Cross Roads

Cross Roads

When at in life we seldom meet
Where two paths cross and stranger's greet
A voice, a touch, a glance and then
We start down our paths again
Together or apart
Decisions of the heart
Made through loneliness and despair
Dreams vanish in thin air
Strength to understand
As women and men
Our destinies entwine
We seek to divine
A friend, a lover or foe
Sometimes we never know
Which role we partake
Some show a kinder face
Harsh words they leave our embrace
Tomorrow there
Today stand here
Contemplating
Entangled in love's vine
Passion destroying
Friendship sublime
Anger’s fiery darts
Empathy imparts
A lover's tryst
We choose
We think we know
Our lover, friend or foe
When at in life we seldom meet
Where two paths cross and stranger's greet
